First Name: You can make your first name anything you like, so long as it's not blank, but since it's part of the personalization you'll see on many pages, why not make it accurate and make the site a little more inviting (also wouldn't want you to start developing a split personality!)

Country: Grocery-Watch.Com is primarily as US focused site at the moment, but we are in the process of going international. Please choose your country accurately, so that we can plan properly and present you with the language, product and culinary choices that make sense for your choice of resident country.
 

State: If you are living in the United States, your choice of State of Residence is VERY IMPORTANT. This determines what retail chains, stores and prices you see. Picking the wrong state can give you very misleading information. For example, growing seasons and in-season prices very widely for produce. During winter, picking Florida when you actually live in Maine would give you unrealistically low vegetable prices.
 

5-Digit Zip: If you are living in the United States, this is probably THE MOST IMPORTANT information concerning your membership. If you are trying to put together a shopping trip based on our system, the distances and expected travel times from our system will be unusable if you use the wrong zipcode. For example, if you give a zipcode in Florida, but live in Maine, your shopping list will be based on the stores closest to that zipcode in Florida - our generated shopping trip plan will likely be worthless. We also track in store specials and sometimes suggest alternate stores in your area - having an accurate zipcode will maximize the value of these suggestions.
